If you’re going to put any bike to the test then Alpe d’Huez is a pretty fine starting point. Especially when you’re pitching it as the bike for the mountains. Pro-continental Team Fortuneo-Vital Concept will have the 785 Huez RS as their weapon for when the road starts to rise.
Look 785 Huez RS
Look takes its carbon technology and has created a frame that weighs in at 730g with the carbon fork at 280g. The 785 Huez RS which will be ridden over the mountain parcours of this year’s Tour de France, comes equipped with SRAM Red eTap and Corima 32 MCC S+ wheels. Those wheels definitely add a very special look to the bike with the unique spoke design. At €9,999 it’s a pricey investment for anyone not a professional cyclist and that’s why Look have introduced a standard model, the Look 785 Huez.
A lot of attention to detail with the color matching details on the 785 Huez RS
Look 785 Huez
The brother of the RS version, still hits the lightweight mark but is claimed by Look to be a “competition-ready bike but one that is accessible to all”. Directly taking its shape and geometry from the Huez RS, but with a slightly different carbon fibre blend. The frame weighs in at 990g, a 240g difference to the Huez RS and with a slightly heavier fork, but still not exceeding 350g. For a top level spec on the 785 Huez it comes with Ultegra Di2 for a price of €3,999.
KEO 2 MAX CARBON
As part of the Huez launch Look have also gone back to the drawing board on their pedal design and have remodeled the shape of the Keo 2 Max Carbon, boasting a new slimmed down design and slightly wider shape. There is a surface increase of 25% which they say improves the power-surface ratio. Weighing in at 125g, they play their part in ensuring the ultra-lightweight Huez’ does not have any unnecessary grams added to it.
