An update from the Garmin Edge 1000 the new Edge 1030 is further increasing ride activity metrics available to riders whilst Garmin have also promised increased battery life of up to 20 hours and connectivity with this new model.

The new Edge 1030 can apparently suggest better routes for cycling along with alerting riders of upcoming Strava segments. Pairing with iOS and Android devices means easy data upload as well as connectivity to other riders. Incoming messages appear on screen with the option of quick automated responses. The colour screen is said to have improved touch sensitivity even when wearing gloves or in the rain. The Garmin Edge 1030 is available now from selected retailers. Retail price is € 599.99.
