Eurobike 2017 News

Eurobike 2017: the most exciting news from Oakley, Garmin, Poc, Bianchi & more

After 4 days of Eurobike sensory overload from bright lights, crazy Europop choreographed dances mixed with bike porn and beer – a detox was needed, not only for the sake of health but also to reflect on some of the new things happening in the industry. The rise of e-mobility being one of them, couldn’t go unnoticed, and pretty much featured in every corner of the show. This is something we are going to cover in more depth later in the season as it’s such a huge topic that’s hovering on the horizon.

In the meantime here is a lowdown on some of the interesting launches, collaborations and designs from both the well established brands and some of the underdogs.

Bianchi & Ferrari Collaboration

Bianchi Scuderia 001 1140x760

When two brands like Bianchi and Ferrari with a long history in their sport announce a collaboration you can be sure it’s going to be exciting. Presented at Eurobike by Bianchi’s chairman, Salvatore Grimaldi, the new Bianchi SF01 was the first bike of this new partnership, but with the promise that a whole series across all disciplines will follow. Available in two designs – Ferrari red ‘Rosso Corse’ and black ‘Nero Setoso’. The new SF01 weighs 780 g in size 55 cm and has it’s roots in the Bianchi Specialissima frame. Adding a whole range of high-end carbon components the overall weight of the SF01 is claimed to be 6.4 kg.

The next project of the collaboration is a new Triathlon Bike using latest technologies like hydraulic disc brakes and also the aerodynamic elements from Formula 1 cars. We are excited to see what this collaboration will bring in the future.
