We want you! GRAN FONDO is looking for English-speaking copy editors

We are looking to expand and reinforce our dedicated editorial team to let us offer even more outstanding international bike content in the future! If you are a copy editor, native English speaker and you love what we do, read on now!

Who we are

If you’re looking for a corporate mindset and a run-of-the-mill, nine-to-five job, you’re in the wrong place. We see ourselves as a team of creators with high standards, bold visions and crazy ideas, who want to live out their passions while having fun. Of course, this is only possible with a high degree of professionalism, flexibility and a truly effective company structure. If you want to achieve more or change something in your (work) life and are seeking a sustainable and fulfilling career, you will find it with us. For us, the quality of your workday is just as important as the work you produce – we’re not referring to our espresso machine or the Vitra chairs, but above all to our friendly and constructive working atmosphere, where ego battles and one-upmanship can stay at home.

Our core team of almost 30 passionate individuals knows that our focus is not on business management or profit optimisation but on the quality of the very work itself. We are aware of our responsibility towards the industry and more than 1.5 million monthly readers, always doing our best to provide fair and honest reviews as well as sustainable development of our much-loved sport! You’ll be able to work from wherever you want, but when you do visit, our headquarters in Leonberg near Stuttgart are a great starting point for any two-wheeled activity, with a varied local road and trail network, a doorstep gravel paradise and lots of cool places to stop for a snack. The latter might not be possible during lockdown, but in the meantime, there are post-ride beers at our office! In addition, the Black Forest is only a stone’s throw away and offers plenty of opportunities for roadies and mountain bikers alike, with climbs, descents, terrain and views to fulfil any desires. Of course, there’s also Black Forest gateau!

We are an international family and self-made company with an impressive history, as you can read in ENDURO magazine! Our publishing house 41 Publishing produces the four magazines GRAN FONDO, DOWNTOWN, ENDURO and E-MOUNTAINBIKE, and is the organiser of the renowned Design & Innovation Award.

Your mission

With a strong vision for our magazines and innovative strategies and publishing concepts, we want to set trends, actively shape the development of the cycling scene and influence both society and, of course, the bike industry in the years to come. Join us and become part of our amazing team!

Your profile

Is proofreading texts and correcting spelling, grammar and punctuation errors your passion? Do you know the cycling industry inside out and can you critically assess the factual correctness of information? Have you mastered the art of captivating bike fans with your words? Ideally, you’ll also be used to spending hours in the saddle – though not the horse kind, mind you. With work involving everything from articles on new technology right through to lifestyle stories, your copy editing should be captivating and entertaining for the pages of our magazines and websites. We need the following from you:

  • English native speaker
  • eloquent, concise writing style
  • a “get-shit-done” mentality comes naturally to you
  • fast and effective communication
  • willingness to work flexible hours: occasional work/availability on weekends (e.g. breaking news, press camps)
  • German language skills and cycling experience are a plus
