Continental take on the gravel market with two new tires – TERRA Trail and TERRA Speed
The German tire giant Continental has launched two new gravel tires, with the intent of cementing their spot in the market. The Continental TERRA Trail and TERRA Speed are said to cater to both racers and adventurers. We have all the most important info right here!
Both tires are designed and handmade in Continental’s headquarters in Korbach using their Black Chilli Compound. These new tires also feature Conti’s ProTection Technology and are tubeless-ready. You can choose between a full black colourway and a “cream” sidewall option to match your ride.
Continental TERRA Trail
The new Continental TERRA Trail is the knobbliest tire in the TERRA range, and according to Conti, it is ideal for wet and challenging conditions. The tread pattern has been designed to provide high levels of traction across a variety of terrain from tarmac to gravel and muddy trails. The TERRA Trail is available in two sizes – 650 x 40B (440g claimed weight) and 700 x 40C (460 g claimed weight).
Continental TERRA Speed
As its name suggests, this is the faster rolling TERRA tire, due to a less prominent tread pattern. Conti say this is the ideal gravel tire for those looking for performance on less challenging surfaces and dry, dusty racecourses where reduced rolling resistance is paramount. The TERRA Speed is available in four sizes: 650 x 35 B (390g claimed weight), 650 x 40B (400g claimed weight), 700 x 35C (400g claimed weight) and 700 x 40C (420g claimed weight).
The Continental TERRA Trail and TERRA Speed look like a promising entry into the gravel marker for the German brand. We are looking forward to testing both for you in the near future.
