True love never rusts – New 2021 Standert Erdgeschoss gravel & bikepacking rig for stainless steel lovers

Originating from Berlin’s fixie and race-bike scene, Standert’s designers took their new Erdgeschoss gravel and bikepacking rig on an excursion beyond Berlin’s city gates. Read on to find out what you can expect from Standert’s latest stainless-steel creation.

The new Standert Erdgeschoss builds on the success of its predecessor and reflects the philosophy of the Berlin-based brand. If you’re not yet familiar with Standert, you can read everything about the small German manufacturer in our Behind the scenes at Standert article. Like its predecessor, the new version of the Erdgeschoss features a stainless-steel frame. The bike will be available as a frameset, which retails at € 1,799 and as a complete bike, with prices starting at € 3,749. Brand-new is the Standert carbon fork, which features six mounting points for bottle cages and fork panniers.

The main frame offers even more mounting options, with the usual bottle cage mounts in the main frame triangle and countless attachment points on the top tube, saddle rails and the underside of the down tube. All bottle-cage mounts have a third tab which makes it easier to adjust the position of the bottles. The new Erdgeschoss is compatible with up to 47 mm 650B or 40 mm 700C tires, when combined with DT Swiss GRC 1400 SPLINE wheels.

The Components of the Standert Erdgeschoss

Apart from the spec option for complete bikes, you can choose between two finish variants: the moss-green Moss Def version and raw stainless-steel Rawkim model.

Quite clearly, the Erdgeschoss was molded around the successful Standert concept. With a reasonable entry price of € 1,799 for the frameset and € 3,749 for a complete bike, we’re sure that the new Erdgeschoss will sell like hotcakes. As soon as we’ll get our hands on one, we’ll let you know how it performs both as a gravel and bikepacking bike. Until then, we’ll wait patiently to the sound of Rakim and Mos Def.
