The Tour de Yorkshire, for many of us doesn’t quite have the elegant, French roll-off the tongue as you would like. But none the less this blossoming race each year summons roadside crowds and an atmosphere to rival any of cycling’s old world continental relatives. Here Dan Monaghan’s images take us up t’north of England and uncover a white rose.

Cobbles aren’t just made for Belgium. Luke Rowe from Team Sky actually said the Yorkshire ones pack a heftier punch than their Flandrien cousins but sshhhh let’s not tell them.

The people of Yorkshire are renowned for being a friendly bunch, even the sheep are happy to get in on the action!

Tour de Yorkshire can be proud of what it has achieved in it’s short history. It constantly strives to scale new heights each year, and it delivers.
