Vittoria Corsa G+ 700 x 25C

With its novel graphene compound, one Italian road tire is on everyone’s lips: the Vittoria Corsa G+. But since all manufacturers claim that their products offer the best performance with the most innovative technology, we dug deeper to find how what the Italian “Made in Thailand” road tire is really capable of. Can it stand up to the fierce competition? From the get-go, the Corsa G+ provides superb levels of comfort. In combination with our 18.2 mm test rim (inner width), it measures in at 26.6 mm and is therefore the widest tire on test. The extra width provides additional damping and excellent protection against snakebite punctures, meaning that bumpy rides suddenly become comfortable Sunday cruises. No other tire in this test provides this much comfort on rough surfaces.

Whilst providing the least rolling resistance in the lab, the Vittoria Corsa also shined in our practical test. A combination of good grip, outstanding comfort and good rolling characteristics make it the ideal all-rounder. Whilst the Italian isn’t the most puncture-proof tire, it’s definitely the most fun to ride!

It’s very easy to mount and experienced home-mechanics won’t even need a tire lever to get it on the rims… and from the second installation onwards, it gets even easier.

Despite being the heaviest tire (257g), the Vittoria still accelerates eagerly and once it gets up to speed, it doesn’t want to stop. The Corsa G+ generates huge amounts of grip in all conditions, allowing you to maintain momentum and carve through corners at high speed. Compared to the Specialized Turbo Cotton, its good-natured handling and outstanding cornering allow even beginners to feel safe riding at the limit. With its brilliant damping qualities, the Corsa G+ absorbs vibrations efficiently and even deals with bigger knocks, as well as literally glueing your bike to the road. Whilst inspiring the most confidence in the entire test field, it also produces the least rolling resistance. A Best in Test!

By the way, at the beginning of the year, Vittoria introduced the Corsa 2.0, the latest rendition of their Graphene tire. Unfortunately, this wasn’t available at the time of our test.

Conclusions

Despite the steep € 59.95 price tag, the Vittoria Corsa G+ is an excellent choice and really worth every penny. In our test, it came out on top with an outstanding level of comfort, massive grip and incredibly low rolling resistance. The right tire for all of those who appreciate a comfortable and safe ride. The Vittoria makes even a stiff Aero-Bike fit for the cobbles of the spring classics. A well-deserved Best in Test!
