Nicolai: New bike-configurator and Argon CX

How can you make your Nicolai Argon CX even more unique? From the beginning of August Nicolai will launch a bike configurator for the first time and offer its customers an even wider scope of individualisation options for their dream bikes. Here you’ll find some details about it.

German custom-bike manufacturer Nicolai is known for its eccentric bikes and has caused a sensation especially in the MTB sector. For some time Nicolai has tried to appeal to the dropbar-crowd with the Argon CX. Since the Argon CX was available only as a frame set until now very few people knew of its existence. Nicolai’s new bike configurator wants to change this for good.

Nicolai Argon CX | € 1,499 (frameset) | 1,8 kg (frameset in size L)

The Argon CX is probably one of the best examples of what happens when mountain bikers decide to design a bike with drop-bars. True to the “Once Nicolai, always Nicolai” motto the Argon CX offers some of Nicolai’s trademark features such as high-quality CNC-machined and welded parts and big TIG welds. Craftsmanship Made in Germany – true eye-candy and not just for tech-freaks!

Industrial craftsmanship as far as the eye can reach

With a weight of 1.8 kg in a size L the frame of the Argon CX isn’t your optimal option for super-light builds — after all Nicolai is promising durability. With a tire-clearance of up to 42 mm you won’t be able to run super-wide rubber but in return you have the choice of two types of dropouts: conventional 142 mm dropouts with 12 mm Thru-Axle for normal rear derailleurs and 135 mm wide slide-dropouts which are compatible with a hub-gear. The frame lock system gives you also the option to fit a belt drive Pinion gear-box.

160 mm Post Mount – in this case with an adapter for 180 mm-rotors
And 180 mm braking-performance up-front
Hope tech XC – cross country …
… meets downhill – Hope Pro 4
The bottle-cage mount holds the cables in place – clever solution!

Nicolai Bike configurator

Starting in August all new Nicolai customers will be able to use Nicolai’s new online-configurator to build their new dream bike. According to the German manufacturer all configurations and combinations are possible within the limits of technical compatibility. The only drawback? Relatively long waiting times. Nicolai will only order in the components once the customer placed an order and turnaround-times are expected to be of at least 11 weeks. However if you want to build your ultimate dream bike this shouldn’t be too much of an issue — We all know anticipation is the greatest joy! Apart from allowing you to select the spec of your bike the online configurator also lets you choose between a standard geometry and a tailor-made frame and choose from an almost infinite range of colours.

Custom! Nicolai Argon CX with LAUF fork and one-off paintjob.
