LOOK is known for extraordinary concepts and comprehensive componentry integration. Also, the French company pays particular attention to the carbon production process. The frame production of the top-end models doesn’t begin with the purchase of pre-preg carbon sheets, but with weaving the carbon structures in the company’s own factory in Tunisia. The French brand is now bringing this love of detail to the ebike market. We were given the opportunity to have a closer look at an almost production ready model.

LOOK E765

In developing the LOOK E765, the designers took a new approach. While the starting point for the development of numerous LOOK models was for a very aggressive rider type, the E765 is primarily intended to appeal to the comfort-oriented connoisseur. For this reason, the LOOK E765 offers up to 32 mm tyre clearance and a few clever features, such as the so-called 3D Wave technology. This particular design of the seat stays is intended to provide more flexibility in the rear triangle, thus making the ride more comfortable.

The missing bridge between the seat stays should provide additional flexibility in the rear triangle

The heart of the LOOK E765 is the electronic FAZUA Evation motor, as already seen on bikes like the FOCUS Paralane2. LOOK offers its customers the possibility to remove the motor and replace it with a cover. According to LOOK, the E765 thereby transforms into an all-road bike that can keep up with the performance of its commercial competitors.

According to LOOK, the frame shape of the E765 is final, and production is scheduled to start in the next few weeks. The model will then be available from January 2019. Three models are currently being considered, the top model coming with Ultegra Di2, FSA SL-K Light carbon cranks and 42 mm deep Vittoria Elusion carbon wheels, as shown. With that build, the bike should weigh 13.5 kg and be available for approx. € 8,500.

The E765 will be delivered with 40 mm spacers as standard. Although the prototype looks very appealing without spacers. #slamthatstem

Our opinion about the LOOK E765

LOOK has created an exciting concept for the eroad sector with the E765. The internal routing of the cables, the placement of the Di2 junction box in the handlebar end, and, last but not least, the clean design make the LOOK E765 an extremely attractive option. And let’s be honest: this red should go pretty well with the classic Italian car in the garage.
