
The Falkenjagd Aristos SL isn’t just one of the most exclusive bikes in this test– it’s also the most expensive one by a clear margin. Retailing at € 13,327, it’s even more expensive than the custom-built Specialized S-Works Crux. But unlike some overpriced carbon bikes, the Aristos SL justifies its cost with premium materials and a top-tier spec. Like nearly all of 1bike4life’s bikes, the Aristos SL is custom-built to order, and in our case, that means a zero-compromise, race-focused gravel bike. Equipped with the iconic Campagnolo groupset and a carbon saddle, it’s aiming for the gravel throne. But the real question is: can all that exclusivity translate into performance?
Falkenjagd Aristos SL – Winning with titanium?
Buying a Falkenjagd means more than just getting a bike– the titanium specialist stays true to its motto, “1bike4life,” aiming to create a companion for life. Unlike mass-produced frames, the Aristos SL is fully custom built, and features arguably the most exclusive frame in the entire test.
Made from Grade 5 titanium, a lightweight yet notoriously difficult material to work with, the frame promises to combine outstanding performance and a low system weight. In our Titanium ≠ Titanium article, we took a closer look at the different quality levels and manufacturing processes behind this sought-after material. The premium titanium construction also gives the Aristos SL its distinctive look. With a matte finish in classic titanium grey, a matching titanium fork, and anodised gold-green logos, the bike has a subtle yet unmistakable presence.
But this gravel race bike isn’t just about looks– it’s built to be a true all-rounder. With mounts for bottle cages and mudguards and a maximum tire clearance of 45 mm, the 8.37 kg Aristos SL is designed to handle a wide range of conditions. That said, some of its features seem to contradict rather than complement each other. With the 45 mm Schwalbe G-One R and RS test tires, there’s no space left for mudguards– though, to be fair, they wouldn’t make much sense on a race-focused gravel bike anyway.

Light and speedy – The spec of the Falkenjagd Aristos SL
The Falkenjagd Aristos SL isn’t just about titanium craftsmanship, and the spec is just as exclusive. For our gravel race bike comparison test, it came equipped with the Campagnolo Super Record Wireless groupset. Originally designed for road bikes, this 2×12 drivetrain is a rare sight in the gravel segment. In our test field, only the Parapera Anemos² shares the same setup. The 10–29 cassette and 45/29 chainrings may seem a bit old-school, but with a 1:1 ratio in the easiest gear, even steep gravel climbs are doable.
Rolling on Campagnolo power, the bike is fitted with Fulcrum Sharq wheels, featuring a wavy-profiled rim with different depths ( 42 to 47 mm) and an internal width of 25 mm. These wheels are modern and fully race-ready. The 45 mm Schwalbe G-One R tire up front and RS in the rear make for a fast and race-oriented setup– but they also max out the frame’s tire clearance, leaving very little room for mud or debris, especially around the fork. For everyday use, slightly narrower tires might be the better choice.

The engraved Falkenjagd logo on the head tube is a real eye-catcher– something that’s only possible thanks to the titanium construction.

With 45 mm Schwalbe G-One R tires, the Falkenjagd Aristos SL is equipped with modern, high-volume rubber– but it’s also right at the edge of its tire clearance.

The round Schmolke Carbon TLO seatpost is secured in style– with a matching carbon seat clamp for the perfect finishing touch.
Like all 1bike4life models, the Aristos SL comes with high-end carbon components. The build includes a comfortable, super-light Schmolke Carbon TLO seatpost, paired with a one-piece, unpadded Selle Italia SLR Boost Tekno Superflow carbon saddle. Unlike with the Aristos RSR road bike, this setup actually works exceptionally well for gravel. The cockpit is equally premium– a sleek, integrated handlebar from sister brand Parapera. With a narrow 36 cm width on the tops and 44 cm in the drops, it allows for an aero-optimised pedalling position, while the generous flare provides great control on descents. During this test, the cockpit impressed with outstanding ergonomics. In terms of spec and build quality, the Aristos SL leaves little to be desired. However, at 8.37 kg, it falls into the heavier half of this carbon-dominated test field.

Falkenjagd Aristos SL on test – pure titanium, pure fun!
The Falkenjagd Aristos SL took on our race gravel test at the GF gravel training camp along the French Riviera, weaving through the historic streets of Nice and Monaco. From the very first ride, it stood out with a nimble, agile character, proving one of the most playful bikes in the entire test field. It delivers a high level of composure and confidence on rough terrain with rocky sections– this is also due to the 45 mm Schwalbe tires, which provide great efficiency and grip.
Wow – with a race setup, this thing is pure fun!
In fast, straight sections, however, it doesn’t quite match the stoic composure of bikes like the Cannondale, 3T, or SCOTT. That said, the ergonomic Parapera cockpit makes the Aristos SL predictable and controlled in all situations. When it comes to acceleration, the Aristos SL delivers a punchy and efficient ride. While it doesn’t quite match the explosive response of the ROSE or Parapera, it still picks up speed eagerly – impressive, given its relatively high weight.
Comfort is another strong point. Thanks to its lightweight, compliant carbon components, the Aristos SL absorbs vibrations and small impacts well. Combined with its balanced and slightly more upright riding position, the German titanium machine is a versatile all-rounder that wins riders over with its lively handling and sheer fun factor.

What kind of race is the Falkenjagd Aristos SL built for?
With its versatile character and playful handling, the Falkenjagd Aristos SL is the perfect all-rounder for nearly any scenario– whether it’s training, bikepacking, fast post-work spins, or demanding gravel races. It may not be the fastest, lightest, or most agile bike in this gravel racer comparison test, but it’s more than capable of holding its own in the toughest UCI gravel races. On top of that, the titanium frame guarantees unmatched durability– promising a lifetime of riding fun.

The Falkenjagd Aristos SL is an exclusive high-end machine– from the top-tier spec to the titanium frame and stunning aesthetics, everything about it exudes quality. While the 45 mm tires push the limits in terms of clearance, the Aristos won over plenty of fans in our test crew with its excellent versatility and fun character. It may not be the fastest or most race-focused bike in this test field, but when it comes to versatility and exclusivity, the Aristos SL leads the pack.
