The relaunch of the DT Swiss PRC Dicut Mon Chasseral represent the latest iteration of the high-end, and ultra high performance hoops from the Swiss brand. They’re joined in the new line-up by the aero-specific ARC 1400 Dicut wheels and the aluminium PR 1400 Dicut 32 OxiC. Here’s all you need to know about the new entrants to the wheel market.

The new entrants (L-R.): PRC 1100 Dicut Mon Chasseral, ARC 1400 Dicut, PR 1400 Dicut 32 OXiC

Having launched their RoadRevolution 2018 late last year, the premium Swiss wheel brand unveiled a whole new collection including the ERC 1100 Dicut, ARC 1100 Dicut and the CR 1600 Spline 23 – all of which we’ve already published reviews on. Now it is time for the next unveiling:

DT Swiss PRC 1100 Dicut Mon Chasseral

Wheelset weight 1,382 g | € 3,498

The DT Swiss PRC 1100 Dicut Mon Chasseral have borrowed their name from one of Switzerland’s highest mountain in the Jura range and represents the brand’s ultra lightweight top model. Weighing in at just 1,382 g for the pair, these are set to be the ultimate choice for serious climbers and those who simply like shaving grams off their equipment. Exclusively made in carbon, the hubs contain premium ceramic bearings. The carbon rims are 35 mm deep with an inner rim width of 18 mm. They come tubeless ready. The front wheel is built with 18 DT aerolite spokes, while the rear deploys 24 spokes. The wheelset is only compatible with quick-release and comes in a rim brake model. Included in each order, the SwissStop Black Prince promises to provide the necessary braking performance.

DT Swiss ARC 1400 Dicut DB

Wheelset weight 1,830 g | € 1,978

The DT Swiss ARC 1400 Dicut aero wheelset can be seen as the younger sibling to the ARC 1100 Dicut, sharing all the same traits as the top-shelf model apart from a nominally different number of spokes and forsaking the ceramic bearings. We’re stoked to see those carbon rims that DT Swiss developed in collaboration with SWISS SIDE now no longer cost the earth. There’s a € 410 price difference between the ARC 1100 Dicut and the ARC 1400, so if you can deal with the roughly 100 grams extra on the ARC 1400 you should wind up very happy with your purchase – and forgetting needing an expensive gym membership once you’ve got those wheels. The ARC 140 Dicut wheels come with varying rim depths, with the choice of 80 mm, 62 mm or 48 mm. The hubs are compatible with both 9 mm QR axles as well as 12 mm thru-axles.

DT Swiss PR 1400 Dicut 32 OXiC

Wheelset weight 1,625 g | € 998

Compared to their predecessor, the rim depth on the new PR 1400 Dicut 32 OXiC has grown by 11 mm. Those welden aluminium rims have the brand’s own OXiC coating and premium-looking black decals. A rework of a model that has already convinced us of its performance in many tests, the 1,625 g lightweight model certainly makes a very positive first impression. It has an 18 mm inner rim width and shows all the signs of becoming a first-rate, reliable training wheelset with great value for money.
