Canyon 2020 E-fitness bike news: Roadlite:ON with the FAZUA Evation drive system
With the all-new Roadlite:ON, Canyon is expanding their fitness bike portfolio with a powered model that, according to the German brand, is so much more than just a fitness bike with e-support. You can find out all the most important information here.
Inspired and based on technology derived from its road bike models, the Canyon Roadlite models have represented a performance-focussed interpretation of a fitness bike since their introduction. The release of the Roadlite CF with its carbon frame in 2018, sent a particularly clear message about how the German direct-to-consumer brand understands fitness: performance, control and comfort all fully integrated into the core of the Canyon brand.
According to Canyon, the addition to the Roadlite family of the Roadlite:ON and its FAZUA Evation motor continues the theme. “Powered by the Fazua Evation drive system, the Roadlite:ON provides significant assistance, but assistance that always feels natural and unobtrusive as you pedal. The system’s low weight of only 4.6 kg means the whole build tips the scales at a meagre 15 kg, giving the bike agile, sharp handling – and giving the rider the stability and confidence to attack in high-speed sections,” says Canyon.
The aluminium frame shares technology and design elements of other Canyon frames with typical details such as the internally routed cables. Additional features include a carbon fork and flat-mount disc brakes. The complete package is rounded off with a wide-range 1x mountain bike groupset, the comfortable Canyon VCLS seat post and the Canyon’s own, in-house CP04 cockpit.
The Roadlite:ON 7.0 will be priced at € 2,699, the 8.0 at € 3,299 and the top-of-the-line,Shimano XTR equipped 9.0 at € 3,699 for model year 2020. Further information is available at www.canyon.com.
With the Canyon Roadlite:ON, the German direct-to-consumer brand presents a visually coherent concept that will facilitate the daily commute of many customers. We are looking forward to a first test ride, but we can’t help but wonder: is the Roadlite:ON Canyon’s first foray into the E-road bike market? We’ll keep our ears to the ground!
