Canyon Grail CF 2020 announced – all specs and prices
No other bike or handlebar has ever caused such a scene in the gravel segment as the Canyon Grail CF did when it was launched. Now, Canyon have introduced the second generation of their endurance-gravel bike – and of course, they’ve stuck to their guns with the polarising handlebar.
We’ve already had the chance to thoroughly test the previous version of the Canyon Grail CF and listed all the advantages and disadvantages of the unique handlebar. We also put the Canyon Inflite and Canyon Grail in a head to head comparison.
For 2020, Canyon have redesigned their innovative carbon endurance-gravel bike. The second generation of the Gravel bike will once again be offered in a women’s specific WMN version. The starting price for both the WMN and the unisex models is € 2,199. The flagship model CF SLX 8.0 ETAP will set you back by € 4,899, weighs 8.3 kg according to the manufacturer’s specs and comes with SRAM Force eTap AXS, Eagle AXS drivetrain and DT Swiss GRC 1400 SPLINE DB carbon wheels. For those who still prefer two-by drivetrains, the German brand will be offering the € 4,599 Grail CF SLX 8.0 Di2, which is equipped with Shimano’s new electronic GRX Di2 drivetrain and weighs in at 8.3 kg. Canyon also rely on Shimano’s gravel-specific GRX drivetrain for the remaining models at the lower end of the range. However, these come specced with sturdy aluminium wheels instead of the lighter carbon alternatives as seen on the flagship models.
The model range of the Canyon Grail CF at a glance
As usual, the value for money of the direct to consumer brand is sending a clear message to the competition. The WMN versions are available in four sizes. The WMN XS and S versions will come with 650B wheels, which, according to Canyon, should ensure that the handling remains constant across the range. The unisex versions are available in a total of seven sizes (2XS-2XL). Here is an overview of all new Canyon Grail CF models:
