Vittoria are a true powerhouse of the Italian cycling scene and have stood for technological innovation in cycling for decades. But rather than resting on their laurels, the Milanese firm are taking a radical step towards sustainability in 2026. Let’s be honest: until now, tires have hardly been the product of a green industry. Production has traditionally relied heavily on crude oil, synthetic carbon black, and a long supply chain that few ever stop to question. Vittoria want to change that. With the introduction of the new Terreno Pro series, every tire is made from 92% recycled and renewable materials – including recycled carbon black, bio-silica, and natural rubber. It’s an approach that no one else is pursuing with quite such consistency, proving that there is a better way to do things. Vittoria have made this new direction visible through an iconic, brown natural rubber look, which ensures these tires stand out from the crowd.

When it comes to the “skeleton” of the Terreno Pro series, Vittoria are transferring their decades of experience with cotton casings – a technology previously reserved almost exclusively for elite road tires – directly to the gravel. For the new Pro models, this construction has been specifically tuned for maximum resistance to mechanical impacts from below. The result is intended to be an above-average level of pinch-flat protection that runs through the entire line-up. Vittoria have reinforced the casing so that snakebites should hardly stand a chance, even during hard impacts on roots or sharp stone edges. However, this focus on stability might result in slightly lower compliance, as the design makes the casing less flexible than some of the radical lightweight models from the competition.

The Textile Shield from the Ocean

Vittoria remain consistently committed to the sustainable path when it comes to puncture protection. Instead of relying solely on traditional, often stiff protective belts under the tread, they use a layer of recycled nylon which encloses the entire casing. This material, recovered from discarded fishing nets, is incredibly tear-resistant and forms a comprehensive shield designed to reinforce not just the tread, but the entire tire from bead to bead.

Vittoria make it easy for you to choose the right setup by following an intuitive logic with the new Terreno Pro series: the higher the number, the more aggressive the tread pattern, and the softer the preferred terrain.

Sitting at the top of Vittoria’s speed hierarchy is the Terreno Pro T30. It is the designated specialist for dry conditions and hardpack surfaces. Its tread, featuring a characteristic herringbone pattern, is designed to guarantee maximum efficiency. In our review, the T30 proved to be well-balanced, impressing us primarily with its neutral handling. However, it pays for its ecological credentials with high weight and a level of rolling resistance that falls significantly behind the top figures set by the competition.

The Terreno Pro T50 aims to position itself as the ultimate all-rounder. Featuring a V-shaped arrangement of hexagonal lugs, it offers noticeably more traction and control than the T30. Where the T50 really shines is in the grip department: it provides plenty of confidence in almost every corner and on any surface. Furthermore, it sits firmly on the agile side of things, with a playful ride feel. However, at 700 g, it is the heaviest tire in the entire group test.

For rough terrain and adverse conditions, the Terreno Pro T60 is the gold standard in our group test. It is a true grip monster that practically digs its way into the gravel. The aggressive tread with large, tapered lugs provides a comforting sense of security on muddy or wet surfaces. Despite this, the handling remains predictable and safe. Even with its chunky looks, the efficiency is perfectly acceptable for its class, making it the top choice for adventurers seeking maximum control far off the beaten track.

In our laboratory testing, all three models shone with good to very good scores for pinch-flat protection. However, while the casing is resistant to impacts, it reacts quite sensitively to sharp objects. The entire series has a weakness when it comes to puncture resistance, scoring below average in this department. If you frequently ride on sharp flint or in thorny terrain, you should definitely make sure you are using a reliable sealant.

Which Vittoria Gravel Tire Is The Best?

The tire classification clearly shows just how consistently Vittoria have tuned the new Terreno Pro series for sustainability and traction. If you primarily ride on dry, fast courses and value balanced handling, you’re best to reach for the Terreno Pro T30. However, racers must keep in mind that when it comes to pure efficiency, it cannot quite keep up with the top-tier models from Schwalbe or Continental.

The most versatile package in the Italian line-up is offered by the Terreno Pro T50. As an agile all-rounder, it is the choice for anyone looking for a playful ride feel, or those who value high grip levels on changing surfaces. Despite its incredibly high weight of 700 g, it delivers plenty of fun and confidence. It is the ideal tire for riders who want to make a sustainable choice without sacrificing agility and grip when heading off-road.

When conditions get rough, the Terreno Pro T60 comes into its own. It acts as the “off-road insurance policy” of the range. If you don’t shy away from technical trails, deep soil, or muddy sections, this tire delivers a level of traction reminiscent of cross-country MTBs. With pinch-flat protection ranking second only to the most puncture-proof tires from Challenge, it also offers immense peace of mind for adventurers and long-distance riders who want to enjoy the comfort of particularly low tire pressures, without worrying about their equipment.
