The Schwalbe G-One RX Pro is designed to roll fast while delivering plenty of grip, especially when the conditions turn tricky. Whether you’re dealing with mud or rocky terrain, this tire is meant to take it all in its stride. Schwalbe also promise effective self-cleaning and a supple ride feel, which sounds like exactly what you want from a more off-road focused gravel tire.
That performance is built around a distinctive tread pattern. Wider, closely spaced knobs along the centre line keep rolling resistance in check. Between the central tread and the shoulders, smaller, widely spaced knobs aid traction. Out at the edges, the shoulder knobs are more aggressive, alternating directions to maximise cornering grip. It’s a well-thought-out design, but can the G-One RX Pro really deliver in our test?
So, Where’s the Catch? The Schwalbe G-One RX Pro in the Gravel Tire Group Test 2026
At 589 g, the Schwalbe G-One RX Pro sits roughly on par with the G-One Overland Pro, weighing in around 20 g above the test field average. That hints towards a sturdy, capable construction, but does it compromise rolling resistance? Not at all. At 13.9 W of drag, it’s well below the test average of just under 15 W – a very strong result that outperforms what you might expect from such an aggressive tread. It puts the G-One RX Pro level with the G-One Overland Pro, which is only 0.2 W slower at 14.1 W. Surprisingly, the Schwalbe Thunder Burt MTB tire is noticeably quicker at just 13 W.
Now to its standout strength: grip. That’s where this tire truly shines. The G-One RX Pro bites into the ground with authority, and is an absolute joy to ride. The tread delivers consistent grip at all lean angles, giving you a highly predictable and confidence-inspiring ride. Schwalbe’s claims hold true. This gravel tire is exceptionally grippy, and feels especially at home on softer terrain. At the same time, it performs impressively on gravel and hardpack, offering above-average traction. Handling is defined by the tire’s round profile, making it intuitive and agile without ever feeling twitchy. You get a perfect balance of playfulness and control.
When it comes to compliance, the G-One RX Pro is more than adequate. Once again, it matches the G-One Overland Pro, coming in slightly above average overall. The tire absorbs bumps and vibrations effectively, delivering an ample level of comfort for most situations. The biggest surprise, however, is puncture protection. Both pinch flat resistance and puncture resistance are top tier, placing the G-One RX Pro among the most robust gravel tires in the entire test field.
All things considered, the Schwalbe G-One RX Pro delivers the best overall package in this group test. It may not take the top spot in any single area, but it’s always right up there, and stands out for its exceptional all-round performance.
