How do you build a bicycle that outlasts short-lived standards, and remains just as fascinating after 20 years as it was on day one?

This almost stoic approach to design and engineering shines through in every single weld, and hardly any other bike in this review expresses it as impressively as the Aristos GT. One look at its silhouette is all it takes to appreciate the raw titanium finish and classic round tube shapes, combined effortlessly with up-to-date system integration. Originally developed as a grand tourer to bring the virtually indestructible material of titanium down from its elitist price pedestal, we used the online configurator to spec the GT as an exotic, premium gravel bike for our group test. The Falkenjagd Aristos GT in Detail: Titanium Over Trends?

While “GT” might remind you of Grand Tourisme in the automotive world, it is much more accurate to think of the original Grand Tour, those months-long educational journeys where young Europeans used to explore entire continents. Falkenjagd translate this exact travel ethos, which is slow, curious and focused on enjoyment rather than high speed, directly to gravel. The Aristos GT is the most popular model from Falkenjagd, and was designed as a versatile gravel tourer for epic bikepacking adventures. It combines the classic round tube shapes of their CX bikes with the modern cable integration of the more aerodynamic R-series.

The look remains unmistakable because the raw titanium finish, with its visible welds, oozes pure hand-built charm. The massive advantage over carbon or aluminium is that titanium is much less susceptible to fatigue and corrosion, and can be repaired in the event of a crash. Due to the design of this classic tubing, you have to do without an integrated storage compartment in the down tube, but the frameset compensates with a massive number of mounting points for every imaginable luggage solution. To match, the manufacturer also offers a titanium luggage rack specifically tailored to the frame, which blends seamlessly into the overall look. Technically, the GT is fully up to date, featuring a UDH derailleur hanger for 2026, and offering 50 mm of tire clearance.

Titanium demands timeless perfection, and that is exactly what the balanced geometry of the Aristos GT reflects. Rather than opting for the standard carbon fork and mechanical Campagnolo Ekar groupset, we put together a special custom build featuring a DT Swiss suspension fork, the finest titanium components, and an electronic Campagnolo Super Record X drivetrain. This setup delivers a generous gear range to ensure you won’t run out of steam on steep gravel ramps even with fully loaded bags, while the Super Record brakes biting down on 160 mm rotors provide sharp and dependable stopping power. Falkenjagd have consistently used their own titanium finishing kit throughout the entire build. Alongside the 90 mm stem, bottle cage and seatpost, the narrow 400 mm Falkenjagd Speed Gravel C-Ti handlebar really stands out, combining a 3D-printed titanium top section with vibration-damping carbon drops. This high-end build is rounded off by proprietary Parapera carbon wheels and 45 mm wide Schwalbe G-One R tires. In this premium configuration, our review bike comes in at a surprisingly fair price of €7,490, and weighs 10.52 kg thanks to its robust construction and suspension fork.

The Falkenjagd Aristos GT in the 2026 Gravel Bike Group Review: Setting Off on the Grand Tour

The Falkenjagd Aristos GT rolls into our test fleet as an exotic raw titanium build for the 2026 gravel bike group review, instantly oozing premium charm. But can this noble grand tourer hold its own against the lightweight carbon masses? The answer is clear within the first few metres: yes! Thanks to its immense lateral stiffness, the Falkenjagd lunges forward under acceleration, almost matching the pure sprinters in the group test like the Cervélo Áspero. It comfortably leaves more sluggish competitors like the ROSE Backroad AL in its wake, even if the Aristos is by no means a lightweight.

However, the GT unleashes its true superpower as soon as the terrain gets rough. When it comes to composure, it acts as the benchmark for our test group, alongside the Cannondale Topstone Carbon Lefty, tracking with total defiance where more nervous bikes like the GIANT Revolt have long since started to dance around. It also sits in the absolute top tier for comfort because the supple suspension fork swallows harsh impacts with supreme confidence. Heading downhill, it inevitably puts a massive grin on your face, and inspires huge amounts of confidence, not least because the handling remains just as intuitive and balanced as on the highly predictable Canyon Grizl 7 ESC.

Combined with five mounting points on the top, seat and down tubes, additional adapters for bikepacking bags on the suspension fork, and 50 mm tire clearance, the bike effortlessly masters the balancing act between fast post-work laps and epic bikepacking trips. This makes it incredibly versatile, barely trailing the ultimate king of versatility, the FOCUS ATLAS, and offering worlds more all-round potential than thoroughbred specialists like the Cervélo Áspero.

Are there any weaknesses? Due to its construction, the titanium frame lacks an integrated storage compartment, a feature that competitors like Specialized or Trek boast. Additionally, while the Campagnolo Super Record X 1×13 groupset shifts precisely, the shift doesn’t feel quite as smooth as Shimano or SRAM offerings. Visually, the only real let-down is the light brown bar tape, which clashes with the dark brown tan wall tires. Apart from that, the 1bike4life configurator leaves nothing to be desired with its selection of in-house titanium components. Bottom line, the Falkenjagd Aristos GT emphatically proves that titanium has what it takes to be the perfect all-rounder, rightfully earning itself the group test victory.
