Win a Starter Package for the TORTOUR Cyclocross 2017

In just a few weeks, the second edition of the TORTOUR Cyclocross will take place in Glattfelden, Zurich. We’re proud to support the event as official media partner and are giving away a free starter package!

The first edition of TORTOUR Cyclocross took place last February in Schaffhausen and was a spectacular world premiere, bringing together almost 100 athletes from ten countries – click here to read our report from this unique event. The second edition of this three-day ultra cyclocross and gravel stage race will take place in Glattfelden, Zurich, from 10 to 12 February 2017 and will cover a total of 180 km and 2,500 metres of ascent.

The prologue on the Friday is inspired by the classic cyclocross format, with participants completing eight rounds of roughly 2 km trails with obstacles, short dismount sections, and everything else that goes along with it. The two long stages of roughly 88 km on Saturday and 75 km on Sunday are based more on gravel races, which will make the race slightly less demanding than the premiere in the previous year – both in terms of technique and endurance. The daily start and finish line is at the Riverside hotel in Glattfelden near Zurich.

Tackling the winter’s adventure solo or as a team

Nevertheless, TORTOUR Cyclocross remains a tough challenge – the first multi-day ultra cyclocross race in the world requires participants to have a high level of technical skill and the stamina to withstand potential sub-zero temperatures, snow and mud. Cyclists can race solo or in teams of 2 or 4, and either on cyclocross bikes or mountain bikes. The maximum number of participants is limited to 200. Participants can either just pay the entry fee for the race or book additional accommodation packages of varying standards with meals included.
