Trek releases new Fabian Cancellara custom paint scheme

Fabian Cancellara is a name synonymous with world tour cycling – a modern great with charisma and talent who has been riding professionally for an impressive 16 years. In celebration of his achievements Trek release a custom paint scheme available for everyone.

With the name ‘Spartacus’ having become so synonymous with Cancellara it seemed fitting to shout it out during his last tour.

While best known for his early season exploits, Cancellara has a lengthy resume of success in the world’s most famous race, including seven stage victories and an astounding 29 days wearing the yellow jersey.

Trek bikes want to celebrate his achievements in the year that Cancellara is expected to retire from professional cycling after a last bid at the Rio Olympics this summer. What better gift could Trek give their world famous rider than a custom paint job emblazoned with his nickname, Spartacus. Like the man himself, it isn’t a demure and retiring adornment but one that shouts with pride and celebrates the various teams and milestones of the legendary athlete’s career.

The Trek graphics team set about celebrating the man, the races and the teams he’s ridden for before his retirement from the sport and his early departure from the 2016 Tour de France.

The Trek Madone and Domane are now available immediately from the Project One campaign with the hand-painted graphics, allowing you to build the bike to your exact preference. It might not make you ride like the great man but it will look damn jazzy.
