They always say that bad news travels fast, and last Saturday morning was a case in point. When the cycling world loses someone in the way it did at the weekend with Michele Scarponi, it’s news that hits with a nauseating thump. Near misses is something every cyclist has experienced at some point on the road, it’s a constant war that’s exhausting.
