The first week of the 100th edition of the Giro d’Italia has seen surprise wins, glorious scenery across two islands, a race up a volcano and a few naughty kids sent home. As usual there was no better man qualified for “The Italian Job” of bike racing than photographer Russ Ellis. So sit down, put your feet up like the rest of peloton today and take a look at the cycling world’s dolce vita.

The beauty of it all is we’re still not half way through meaning there’s plenty more of this to come. Now that’s something we can all raise a bidon to!
