The 2016 cyclocross season start Livestream

In addition to hosting the event’s most star-studded start line to date, the fourth edition of the Trek CXC Cup will be televised live on trekbikes.com September 17-18. The stream will be provided free of charge and available onTrek’s website globally with no geo-restrictions. The two-day CXC Cup brings together current World Champion Wout van Aert and much of Europe’s top cyclocross athletes with the US’s top talent including 12-time US CX Champion Katie Compton. In attendance with his Trek-sponsored Telenet-Fidea team, the legendary Sven Nys will preside over the World Cup-caliber weekend providing commentary throughout the broadcast. The Elite Women are currently scheduled to begin at 12:00 US CDT/19:00 CET with the Elite Men racing at 13:15 US CDT/20:15 CET. The racing will be called live in English by Dave Towle with English and Dutch color commentary provided by Trek-Segafredo Communications Director Tim Vanderjeugd.

The races will take place on Trek’s unique home course, which was completed in early September on the grounds of Trek’s Global Headquarters and constructed by Trek’s Race Shop with the input of Nys. The race will serve as a kick-off to a tour of early-season US races. Trek is proud to open the series, and expects to see thrilling competition in the professional races. World Champ Wout van Aert seems to have similar expectations:

“I’m excited to race in Waterloo. It is an honor for me to show my rainbow jersey to the cross fans of Wisconsin and beyond. I see it as a perfect rehearsal for the first World Cup races in the States.”

For those in the area, this year’s CXC Cup is a unique opportunity to race alongside the sport’s best. Those up to the challenge will take on two full days of amateur and elite racing. Off the course, spectators will enjoy a festive atmosphere complete with local food and beer vendors, a fun zone for kids, and an expo area to check out this season’s best cross gear.
