The new model launched by 3T has them claiming it to be both aero and comfy. These two don’t always go hand in hand. So what have 3T been up to, to achieve this.

One of the first characteristics they detail is that the frame has been optimised to accommodate a wider tire (28 mm) this is not uncommon in the current market and the increased tire size as we know, is a key factor to comfort and drowning out road noise, but here is where they claim their bike differs to others in the market and still maintains aerodynamics: “The STRADA is the first aero road frame optimized for wider tires”.

Along with other features such as a single ring drivetrain, aero forks, seat stays all promote drag reduction. The tire hugging seat post further adds to this aero design by sheltering the rear wheel, reducing turbulence. All in all their Sqaero airfoil design pushes the limit on tire clearance to minimise drag. The bike will be available as a direct mount disc brake option only, as 3T believe that one frame design cannot successfully accommodate both options.
